Big Sale, OBR, and More

 Afternoon,

It's an exciting day over here because OBR 9 is now available! Yay! As I said in a previous post, this series is ten years in the making and I can't believe it. Autumn and Samuel's story continues and there are some pretty big surprises, and some not so big surprises, along the way.

In more good news that every book in the Paranormal Public series is currently priced at 0.99 cents for a limited time. Check it out here. It's back to school time of year and since that's a series about a school, albeit an unusual one, I thought it was a great time for a sale.

As we transition into fall I've started work on the second Gauntlet. I'm also thinking about what else comes next writing wise. To my way of thinking the obvious answer is PP 15, but we shall see.

More Gauntlet

 Morning,

Look at this third post in a row. It's almost like consistency . . .almost. I hope everyone's having a good start to the week. I'm hoping to attend a baseball game later this week, which I haven't done in years. We shall see. Anyone else have any fun plans?

In book news, after OBR 9 will be the second Gauntlet. A series I adore the first book was published a long time ago. Now with some fresh eyes on Gauntlet Fall (it's free BTW) I'm working on a sequel. I had to change cover directions but I LOVE the new cover. Dragon Gauntlet will be available early next year!

Gauntlet Fall was a big deal for me. I loved writing it and couldn't be prouder of the story it turned into. My excitement at finally working on a sequel is hard to put into words. Let me just say I can't wait until Dragon Gauntlet is in the hands of readers. It's going to be epic.

Ten Years

 Afternoon,

How has it been almost ten years since I published my first book? Self-publishing sure has changed in that time. Have any of you been reading self-published books all that time? My books? I can't believe it. 

For me it's been ten years of writing and evolving work. OBR was my first completed book. I wrote it one summer, staring out at the field next to my family’s house. A good way to write, let me tell you. Goldenrod and green grass everywhere. The backdrop the bluest of skies. Somehow it was harder to write when it rained, especially a book like OBR.

Now ten years later I'm writing book nine in the series. It's nearly done. The characters have grown like I have grown. As some of you will remember I tried to end this series once before but couldn't do it. I have a title for the last book. A title that if I used it I knew that there was no going back. 

Well, I can't bring myself to use it. Finality isn't my thing. And so here's book nine. Will I make it to book ten? No idea, but there's always that title. Tucked away. A secret, but ones readers of the series might be able to guess at.

So much has happened along the way, over the years, for me and surely for you. Thank you for being here, whether you found OBR all those years ago or recently. Thanks for enjoying the stories.

Pre-Order August Sea (One Black Rose 9)

Hi all,

I everyone is having a lovely summer so far. It isn't still spring is it? The last time I was supposed to post to the blog was spring . . . Funny story . . .actually, there isn’t. I drafted a post and then didn’t hit publish. I had wanted to tell you that the 9th One Black Rose was up for pre-order but then just didn’t write about it here.  

NINE BOOKS in the series though! Wow. I can’t believe it. This fall we’re coming up on the ten year anniversary of the first One Black Rose being out into the world. That’s some commitment right there. Self-publishing has changed just a tad bit in that time. 

Back in the day I used to check Goodreads several times an hour to see if anyone had added it to the TBR pile. No joke. There I was in a coffee shop refreshing the Goodreads page, good times. Anyone, here's the pre-order link! Other retailers coming soon. I'm SO excited for you to return to Autumn, Samuel, and Holt's story. 

I’d like to do something fun to celebrate ten years of OBR. if anyone has any suggestions let me know. In the meantime I’ll do my best to be less absent. A summer post is coming shortly, complete with pictures of sunshine despite the fact that in Maine it rained FOR MOST OF JULY. Now, we needed rain, but it was a weird phenomenon all the same.
